50 Before 50

I started my 40 before 40 list with less than a year to complete it; this time I’ve got about 9 and a half years!  The last list spurred me  to do things I likely wouldn't have completed. Writing it down is key. I will be pulling from this list to spice up my annual goals each year now through 2029.    

Some are serious, some are silly – all are good!

  1. Go snorkeling in Hawaii
  2. Drink beer in Germany
  3. Visit the Pacific Northwest
  4. Rent a cabin on a lake
  5. Go on a random road trip
  6. Cruise with Tony
  7. Take mom on a train ride through the northeast
  8. Take a bubble bath with way too many bubbles
  9. Learn a Britney Spears, N’ Sync or other 90s pop icon dance
  10. Read 500 books
  11. Travel to a seminar or conference related to wellness, fitness or women/community (non-Jazzercise)
  12. Adopt another dog
  13. Get pin-up style photo done
  14. Participate in a random act of kindness day annually and encourage others to participate
  15. Help over 100 women improve quality of life through fitness  
  16. Eat an exotic fruit I’ve never had
  17. Complete three sets of full body push-ups (… I’m tall, they’re hard!)
  18. Get a movement assessment on myself with plans for improvement (ankles, hips, thoracic/shoulder)
  19. Hire a coach periodically for business or my own fitness/wellness
  20. Massages – keep getting ‘em
  21. Be a guest on a podcast or blog post
  22. Create a welcoming outdoor space at home
  23. Go paddleboarding (was on my before 40 list but didn't happen - this time it will!)
  24. No screen Saturdays in June annually (No social media, no television, no laptop, etc.)
  25. Get 30,000 steps (the most I’ve ever had is 27,000)
  26. Sell house & move to a new-to-us one
  27. Attend a local cooking class
  28. Go to local workshops/seminars at least 2x per year
  29. Make pasta from scratch
  30. Eat an entire meal with my hands that’s not meant to be eaten that way
  31. Clean out my closet so that I wear everything in it on a regular basis
  32. Find a fabulous pair of expensive jeans
  33. Cultivate friendships by initiating get togethers and accepting invites monthly
  34. Plant something that lives for more than two months
  35. Watch the sun rise with Tony in a place we’ve never been
  36. Spring and fall walking/hiking – do it! 
  37. Help mentor 5 prospective Jazzercise instructors
  38. See the Northern Lights
  39. Do a mud run, color run or other fun, themed run
  40. Roller skate – carefully!
  41. Go on a girl’s trip
  42. Celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with a big party (2023)
  43. Celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with a big trip (2028)
  44. Throw a surprise party for someone
  45. Ride a bike again (it's been years!)
  46. Try a new/different fitness experience annually
  47. Go all out with Christmas decorations outside and inside
  48. Give back: volunteer or donate annually
  49. Get really good at making something.  For example, a “signature dish” (maybe this will make me like cooking more…)
  50. Daily gratitude, laughter, and love

I'm looking forward to the adventures ahead of me.  I may need to edit the list as my desires and goals change. But one thing is certain, this little list will serve as inspiration through the coming years. What's on your list?
